I've imported a .stp file into Solidworks and when I normal to, for example, the front plane and then draw a line on that plane following the edge of the component.

On the property manager, it will tell me that the line is at an angle of 359.89999 etc, when really it should be 0.

Basically it's importing badly.

I've had a go at creating a user co-ordinate system by drawing a 3d sketch of three lines at the correct angle, exporting as a parasolid then re-importing. Weather or not I'm doing this right I'm not sure.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
