Hi,
I have spent a long time trying to model the plastic base of an RC race car to send it off to be quoted.
I did not however know that for a sldprt file to be considered not an assembly it had to also only be one body. So i blissfully unclicked 'merge bodies' for all of the extrudes (ending up with around 200 bodies before i manged to combine some) as this made my mirrors work and life generally easier.
However now it turns out that i am screwed because i dont have time to go and fix all of the zero thickness errors in order to make the model a single body.
Does anyone know of a workaround ? Maybe something so i can make a 3d outline of the entire part? As this is all i would need to send it off to be injection molded. I have tried making a solid body around the entire part and subtracting all the bodies but get the same error message that i do when i try to combine bodies : 'No bodies remain after combine operation' Which i guess is down to zero thickness.
I have the same issue with the front suspension cover i modeled.
Would be good if anyone could also let me know if my only option is try to sort all of the zero thickness issues, at least i would know that there is nothing else i could have done.
Any advice would be amazing.
Thank you,
Alex
