So about a year ago I decide to upgrade computers, I like Dell's have had great luck wit them as far as reliability goes.
So I order a workstation machine with the best processor available at the time, 8 gig of memory, an Nvidia card with 1 gig of memory and 64 bit Windows 7.
The machine screams and beyond a very moinor video driver issue has been troublefree. BUT it does not seem to use the memory like I thought it would. The reason for the 64 bit was so the computer would use all the memory but that does not seem to happen going by numbers shown by Windows Task Manager. I do not work on large assemblies my parts tend to be relatively simple but what do I do to use the memory in an effective manner or was it a waste of money for me and would I have been better off with 32 bit for program compatibility wit some of the old software I have to run on a 2nd machine now?
