I'm inserting a (sub) assembly that has mates with in that specific assembly into another higher level (main) Assembly. When I do so the mates in the sub assembly

not longer work.

The lower level assembly has a rocker arm that has a limit angle with in it. When it brought into the higher level assembly the limit angle mate no longer works

How do I keep the mates in lower assembly working in the main assembly
