I model and make foundry patterns. My normal workflow is to make a master part which is often a multi body part. I then create multiple derived parts from the master for my pattern and various coreboxes. Often there is significant work done on the derived parts after importing the master.
I sometimes, often months later get similar job and it makes sense to modify an existing master model. I have to save it as the new part number both to maintain the old parts and to keep track of the new. However this means I have to re do all the work on the derived parts to get my final parts. I would like to be able to save the derived parts along with the master file. Even if I have a lot of errors to fix it would still save me a lot of time both in modelling and this would also bring all my CAM work in as well.
Is there a way to do this?
