I can drag a part onto an assembly and mate references work correctly but if I drag an assembly onto a part or I drag an assembly onto another assembly mate references do not work. This is a "current limitation", apparently with no solution in the works.

Is there a way to select two assemblies and mate them using their mate references in a macro?
