I had a very interesting experience with SolidWorks and the HSMWorks add-in (for running our school CNC Mill) today. I opened a file one of my students created, and the HSMWorks interface got corrupted with the SolidWorks inteface. As the screen shot shows, a few HSMWorks buttons became intertwined with SolidWorks. I have never seen this before, as HSMWorks has always been very stable, and cleanly installs/uninstalls and overwrites itself durring updates.
I have never seen this error before, and after 4 service packs, I think that SolidWorks should be able to prevent these types fo errors from happening-especally while working with a gold certified partner.
Running the SolidWorks repair utility did not help. Neither did uninstalling or reinstalling HSMWorks helped. After a few more ties, I finally had to uninstall, and wipe every trace of SolidWorks and HSMWorks from my hard drive, and reinstall from scratch.
Lots and lots of fun!!.....And I lost almost a half day of productivity.
Has anyone else experienced erros like these? Did a complete wipe and reinstall help?
