When I create a new configuration, I am prompted to link display states or not. Regardless of my selection to link display states or not, I loose any appearance that I have applied before creating the new configuration. I am using 2016 SP5.0, has anyone else seen this behavior?

I am aware of a number of ways to fix this after the fact, but would like to not repeat repetitive tasks in large volumes. Before I go write a macro to programatically create a new config and re-use the previous appearance, I just wanted to see if anyone else had seen a fix in new versions of SW or if this problem is unique to my installation.
