So I've been to a number of local user group meetings over the years. I have found our local group to be a bit, how can I put this.....boring.
Coca-Cola, cookies and concisely presented subject matter. The atmosphere is very serious, no one joking around and there is absolutely no beer. Now, I'm from the beer city and maybe I just expect too much from events that take place here. Madison, about 100 miles west of me has a user group that has a beer mug for a logo(!). Granted, I've never been to their meetings, but I've got to imagine they are a heck of a lot more fun than ours. Maybe this forum has spoiled me with the fun and entertaining personalities.
Here in lies my question. If I manage to get motivated enough, can I start my own SW user group? Or must this be approved by the SW Overlords?
