Greetings, this is my first post on solidworks but I have been using the program for some time now.
I work as an engineer at a fabrication company that deals primarily with sheet metal. We have a lot of automation and optimization macros to increase efficiency but one thing we haven't been able to accomplish (even after directly asking our VAR) is how to link a document property to a gauge table. For instance, we have 4 gauge tables in sheet metal (aluminum, galvanized, mild and stainless), and their respective gauge sizes and k factors etc. After selecting our preference, we have to manually go into file>preferences and type in what material we want (we have a template). Is there any way to set up a custom string for each item per table? For instance if I selected 12 gauge stainless steel we want the property 'Material' to automatically update and say 12 GA 304 SS without having to manually type it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
