I have list of 12 custom properties in our parts template. Wehave numbers assigned to our raw materials so when we edit thematerial in a part it will show up in the custom properties. Someof the information we enter in the custom properties is used for anote we put on our dxf file which lets our plasma table softwareknow what type of material is needed, the thickness of the materialand the speed to use to cut the part. Is there a way to have someof the custom properties automatically edit the informationaccording to what material is called out?

Would creating macros be the best way to do what I am looking for?If so, how would I do that? Any other suggestions are welcome too.

We are still using SolidWorks 2008 SP4.0. We will be installing2009 soon, but can not for a couple of months give of take.
