example drawing

in this example I might have 150 configurations

ATM I click the parent view to select the next configuration, then click the flat pattern view and select the flat pattern configuration of the parent view.  I'm working on learning the API side of solidworks to make a macro that creates the drawings for me but still just in the learning process.

I need to know if there is a way to link the flatpattern view to the parent view, I want to change the configuration in the parent view and the configuration in the flat pattern view changes with it.  Is this a possibility?

my thinking here is that since 00806000SM-FLAT-PATTERN is a derived configuration of the 00806000 configuration there muse be something that could link the 2 together @ the drawing level.  Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but hopefully I just didn't click a checkbox somewhere and this is a possibility
