Is there a way to link the sheet tab names to general text?

I want to create a sheet schedule that lists each sheet # and has a description of what's on that sheet right next to it.  I was thinking that since often name our sheet tabs with a description of what's on that sheet I could link those.  I see that I can link the sheet name, but it only does the sheet Im on & would need to be able to link them all.  It may make more sense to link it to a chart?  I want the the schedule to adjust if sheets get renamed or their position is changed.
