We have a combination of stand alone and floating license seats of Solidworks and I am trying to find out if it makes sense to move them all to a license server.  But I have some questions that maybe some of you can help answer.

1. Can a license server be installed on a workstation that uses Solidworks at the same time?  I don't want to use the company's servers because we would have to get IT involved and that's not a good thing here.  But we also don't have any extra computers to use as a license server so can I install it on one of the workstations that is used?

2. Can a license server be on more than one workstation so if one of them needs to be restarted or goes down for some reason, the others will handle the licenses?  I see the triad setup as an option on the install screens, would this do this?

3.  Anyone have any idea if Solidworks charges to move the seats to a license server setup?
