Dose any one know how to do this

I am trying to put an edge detail on the edge of an MDF  timber panel OG or Bull nose and a  routed detail set in from the edge as a Libary Feature.

i get it set up in the sample ok in the part drawing  

I am using the extrude cut feature arownd a path  the problem I am having is   I  am getting problems lots of  additional reference required can’t see what is required  as well as requiring looking for a plain the one I used to draw the profile for the cut out profile

My hope was I could  just drop a library part on to a simple panel and get the slot /edge detail to all sides set in from the edge a fixed amount  I.e. a simple  ½” wide slot say set in 2” from all edges to all sides .

Is there some way to do this ??
