Leap by Leap Motion - powerful new interfacing tool?

Imagine what interfacing with SolidWorks would look like with this tool on your desktop!  200x more accurate than existing touch-free interfaces, according to their website.  1/100th of a millimeter accuracy.

Minority Report, here we come!  From their website FAQ section:

"The original inspiration behind Leap came from our frustration with 3D modeling— something that took 10 seconds in real life would take 30 minutes with a computer.  Molding virtual clay with a computer should be as easy as molding clay in the real world. The mouse and keyboard were simply getting in the way.

Could we figure out a way to control computers in a better, more natural way—and without settling for the limitations of available technology? After four years of hard work, we’ve got the answer. Now it’s time to have fun."

It looks like it has enormous potential.  I wonder if any developers are working to interface it with SolidWorks?  At \$70, I'm tempted to order one just to play with.  Looks like they don't ship until early 2013 though, unless you are a software developer.

I think you would still need buttons like Ctrl, Shift, S, Esc, etc.  So I'm envisioning my right hand in the air manipulating the model, and my left hand on the keyboard for the afore-mentioned keys.  Sorry SpaceExplorer, you'd be obsolete.  I wonder if gestures could activate commands, similar to mouse gestures?  Man, the possibilities are endless!
