Issues with SolidWorks 2025 - Library Feature and Assembly Equations

Dear SolidWorks Community,

After upgrading to SolidWorks 2025 at the beginning of the year, I encountered some critical issues that are affecting my workflow. I would like to report these problems and seek possible solutions or workarounds.

Issue 1: Library Feature Not Updating Serial Number

In our workflow, we use a library feature to engrave serial numbers along with our company logo. However, after updating to SolidWorks 2025, the serial number no longer updates automatically according to the part’s property. The number only updates when I dissolve the library feature and manually force a rebuild.

This behavior was not present in previous versions, and it significantly disrupts our automated workflow. I have tried:

  • Forcing a full rebuild (CTRL + Q), but it does not resolve the issue.
  • Verifying that the custom property is correctly linked.
  • Testing the feature in a new part to rule out legacy file issues.
  • Saving the library feature again in SolidWorks 2025 to check for compatibility issues.

None of these attempts have resolved the issue.

Issue 2: Equations in Assemblies Not Working After SP1.2 Update

Before installing Service Pack 1.2, I was able to use equations in an assembly to link dimensions between different components. For example, I could set the linear pattern spacing of one part to match the pattern of another part in the same assembly.

After updating to SP1.2, this functionality stopped working. Now, when I attempt to use an equation referencing another component's dimension, I receive an error message stating that "the dimension has been deleted." The equation fails, and I cannot establish the intended link between dimensions.
