I have a sketch that is a DXF file. This file has approximately 4800 parts.
When you try to manipulate the image ie to move it or edit it the program hangs for about 5 minutes calculating.
The computer itself is still functional and not hanging at all.
We have tried this on a laptop running an i7 cpu 10gb of ram and a 660m gpu with cude support / 1.5 gb of vram.
We have also tried this on a dual cpu machine with 8gb of ram and a quadro FX 3500, running the latest drivers for the card
from nvidia.com.
Is there a better way to import the dxf file? Is 4800 parts just too much? The computer is not bogged down at all during this time.
cpu is at 10% ram is at about 20% and disk iops is less than 12.
We have tried loading this in solidworks 2012, 2013 and 2014. We do alot of projects like this so if we could put this to rest
it would amazing.
We have another workstation ordered with a w7000 ati card but i'm pretty sure that won't help much with this problem considering
it isn't even using the resources is currently has.
I have included the DXF file.
Thank you for reading my request.
