Is there a way to limit the number of results return when doing a search?

Let's say I have 1000 SolidWorks drawing, when I search for all SolidWorks drawing using *.slddrw, I only want to show the first 50 results.

Can I make the search field mandatory meaning I have to type in for example customer name when I search for all SolidWorks drawing?
