Mostly what I do is designated as Press-Brake work and single hits on a punch turret. On the rare occasion though I'll run across something where I'd want to stack multiple hits from form tools that overlap. Right now I'm trying to punch a hole, form some features on a disk, and do the cutoff using 3 seperate tools. Now I could do this with one really elaborate form tool in the software but I know in reality no one would ever run it through the die and do the the whole part in one hit. They would do like I did with 3 tools or more. I'd like to be able to use the software this way so my form tool files for the software are just the same files as my form punch files for actually going in a die. Seems like a good way to cut down on work.
I am not really that much experienced with form tools in Solidworks because I use them so rarely. I might be suggesting a feature that already exists. Is there a way to do this already or could people get behind an ER to bring this functionality to the software?
