I am an intern at a manufacturing company.  The engineering department wants to use EPDM in a way that is realistically possible; however, the standard features are not enough to accomplish the task.

My question, is it worth writing a custom add in?  I think I may be able to do it myself, the dilemma is I will only be here for another six months or so.  As my company upgrades EPDM versions and service packs, won't the add in need to be updated as well?
