Is it worth installing Solid Works on a 32-bit laptop?

I bought my laptop about 6 years ago.  It's 32-bit, 2 GB RAM, Intel Core2 Duo 1.5 GHz.  I updated it last year from Vista to Windows 7.

I am contemplating updating this laptop, installing more RAM and memory.  I'm hoping to hold out until something better than Windows 8 comes out, as it seems a waste right now to buy a nice Windows 7 computer which is the same price it was a year ago.

Seem like a bad idea?

In other words, do you think that SolidWorks will run all right on this old of a computer, or is it worth updating to a new Windows 7 or 8 laptop?

Thanks!
