So awhile ago, around a year and a half ago, I had Solidworks 2014 Student Edition. That was expired awhile ago and I uninstalled it and am currently trying to install the 2015 edition with a new license activation serial number. When I go through installing it with the installer, I first get an error right off the bat of the license activation serial number not matching the serial number in the Windows registration. I've tried to clear out the old registry files but maybe I might be missing something. But then I continue after that message. Around ~25%, I get an "Internal error: The Windows Installer for this product component did not run as expected: Register_DocMgrDLL.9FB07B3D_0B7D...." it goes on for a bit. When I continue installation, it very soon after informs me that the Installation Manager encountered a fatal error. Also what I noticed is that right before I get the internal error, the windows application icons refresh, then it occurs. What could be causing this? I tried doing a clean uninstall of the previous version but could it be some conflict with the past version? Thank you! I can provide pictures if needed.
