inserting toolbox components causes crash

I've experienced a new glitch with Solidworks just in the last day.

Any time I try to insert a part from the Solidworks toolbox (bolt, nut etc) into an assembly I get an instant crash of Solidworks "Solidworks has encountered a problem and needs to close"

I'm able to click through the toolbox components fine, but as soon as I try to drag it into the assembly I instantly crash.

There was some windows updates performed yesterday, this issue seems to have occurred after that (perhaps just a coincidence).

Everything was working fine with the toolbox before this.

I've opened older assemblies that already had bolts etc in them and they function fine and I have tried to insert from the toolbox into those assemblies and I'm not crashing.

So it appears to be something to do with newer assemblies created in the last day. (at least that I have discovered so far).

I haven't found any other issues with Solidworks other than this (so far).

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm running Solidworks Premium 2014 SP1.0 on Windows 7
