Inserting live hyperlink to part file in a drawing

Hello,

I am looking for a way to insert a live hyperlink to a part/model file in a drawing. I understand that within SolidWorks you can right click on a drawing view and select "open part" to open the part file. However, we save many of our drawings into PDF form and I am trying to achieve this same functionality from the PDF by clicking on some sort of link in the drawing.

I can get it to work for a specific file name, but I am trying to get it to automatically work for each part (i.e. make the change at template level). I tried to insert a note in the template that is linked to the file name (i.e. \$PRPSHEET:{SW-File Name(File Name)} ), then copied that syntax into the "Insert hyperlink" window as follows:

However when I try to click the link (after inserting a view of a part into the drawing) I get an error about invalid paths or the file does not exist. I think part of the issue I am having is that I do not fully understand the "relative hyperlink" functionality.

We save all of our drawings with the same file name as the model and on the same network drive. Is there any way to do this? If not, is there a way to at least link to the *directory* in the way I have described?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
