Improving Heatsink for LED module

Hi there,

This is the first time I'm using heat simulations to improve a design so I am after some input on how it is best acheived.

I have an LED module which reaches a max temp of 75 degrees after 30 min, this sits onto the heatsink with some heatsink grease.

I'd like to do a study to find out wether tweaking the heatsink in some places can improve heat dissapation.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I am aware there is two types of studies steady and transient?

Which type of thermal load should I use?

Many thanks,

Charles
