I am using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, version 3D Dashboard 2.7.7 (2024), and I would like to import a DXF file into xDesign in order to create a 3D model from it (e.g. via extrusion).

Unfortunately, I cannot find an import or insert function for DXF files within xDesign. Even in the sketch environment, I do not see any DXF import option.

• What are the exact steps to import a 2D DXF file into xDesign as a sketch?

• Is a specific role required (e.g. Mechanical Designer or Drafting)?

• Are there other apps within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform that are better suited to convert DXF files into 3D geometry?

I would appreciate any guidance or documentation you can provide.
