Import Settings...

I am having a terrible time importing a vendor supplied assembly.  It is a very large and complex model originated in a CATIA system, I think.  We have had limited succes with the igs flavor, but it has issues with missing faces, flipped faces, and a few very awful looking, mal-formed faces that resemble something inter-planetary.

Unfortunately, the vendor tells me that they have trouble producing parasolids - which was my original request.

This week, we tried the STP flavor and I cannot seem to even get that open.  I can see the file, and it looks OK, but SW immediately suffers a hard crash.

Is there a recommended set of options/settings that I can try?  I don't do a lot of conversions in this direction, but when I have, it hasn't been quite this memorable an occasion, to understate things a bit.

Manually correcting this file - replacing faces, healing edges, etc. is just not going to be a very good option.  There are nearly 2,000 faces as best I can tell, but I am not sure that number is comprehensive.

I have spent a lot of time searching the help file and this forum for igs and stp file conversions, and found allusions to checking the settings, but no recommendations or guidence?  Perhaps missing something still...
