I need to take a imported file(dwg format) of a steel structure that translates

as a group of  imported bodies and break it into smaller groups

of bodies saved as .dwg or .dxf format for import into sketchup pro as

3d objects.

I'm looking for options to get the do this without purchasing ACAD

Any suggestions are welcome.

The SW dwg\\dxf out only appears to deliver 2d profiles or annotated drawings.
