I've been using SolidWorks on a daily basis for 11 years now but am new to PDM. I'm working in a one-man CAD environment but want to start making use of PDM Workgroup. I called up my VAR and got a price for their PDM implementation training. It's two days on site for \$2,995. I just bought 3DVia Composer last month and am tapped out regarding software budget. I'm sure it's critical to get started out on the right foot when getting this up and running.
I'm just wondering if the VAR trainging is the only practical option. I looked at SolidProfessor's web site, their PDM training is just under 2 hrs worth. I saw a book listed on www.pdmsolutions.com, not sure what their reputation is. When starting out with PDM Workgroup, am I better off waiting until I can afford the implementation training or is it safe to jump in and get my feet wet? Thanks.
