Hello all you extremely helpful folks!

I have a model sent from a supplier as a .STP(see attached pic) It was imported and saved as a .sldprt - there are hundreds of internal components that I couldn't care less about and not to mention makes this file quite cumbersome to work with. I followed some of the various suggestions I found here to no avail.

Can anyone suggest a way to make this parts external surfaces accurate while making it smaller? I have axles, engines, and wheel assemblies that are all similar and are KILLING me! Once I figure out a method I am going to tackle a massive clean up effort.
