I am trying to import the convection from a flow simulation into a thermal model. Unfortunately, when I run the thermal model with convection included (properties, options, include convection properties checkbox, select flow data file) the result does not show any convection effects. I am expecting the results in the thermal study to be similar to the results from the flow study. But this is not the case. Is there anything more I need to do besides check the 'include convection effects' checkbox and select the correct Flow file?
Here are the results of my flow study. I have a fluid running in the center tube, and set the outer face to 700C. I have a nice temperature gradient from 677C to 700C going from the inner tube to the outer face.
Here we have my thermal model. As you can see, I have checked the include effects checkbox and yes, I for sure have chosen the correct CFD study to include.
And here are the results of the thermal study. Notice the temperature is exactly 700C everywhere. This would only happen if the convection effects were completely ignored.
I have tried a few different models now and none of them will include the convection effects. Can you help? Thanks
