Hi, I'm a student working on a project using Solidworks. I'm attempting to make a flashlight, the head of which has 4 raised pieces extruding from it all the way around. https://www.acklandsgrainger.com/images/items/zoom/12VR77_AS01.JPG it can be seen here.
I've tried to recreate this by using the wrap feature with emboss. I've created a new plane on the top plane, drawn the size onto it and wrapped it with an emboss, which works fine. However, if I try to do the same thing on the left or right of the cylinder, no matter what size I make the emboss, the two of them combine making one large emboss that does not follow my dimensions at all.
Here are images showing what I mean (instead of emboss I done this with deboss, it still has the same problem)
First image shows where it's going to emboss to and its size
Second image shows what happens following the feature being applied, I didn't change the dimensions at all, it just joins together for some reason.
What can I do to prevent this, or even get around it? I've tried linear patterning but that doesn't work either.
