What is the process to merge two independent PDM vaults on three servers into two servers with two vaults? 

Current configuration:

Server A1 – Archive

                PDM Vault A  (PDM Pro Vault)

                Server A2 - SQL

                SQL Instance A (SQL Standard)

                                SQL Vault A DB

                                SQL ConisioMaster A DB

Server B1 - Archive

                PDM Vault B (PDM Standard vault)

                SQL Instance B (SQL Express)

                                SQL Vault B DB

                                SQL ConisioMaster B DB

End goal configuration:

Server A1 - Archive

           PDM Vault A (PDM Pro Vault)

PDM Vault B (PDM Standard vault)

Server A2 - SQL

                SQL Instance A (SQL Standard)

                      SQL Vault A DB

SQL Vault B DB

                      SQL ConisioMaster A DB

The SQL merge appears to be pretty straightforward – restore the Vault B DB to SQL server A and add a row to the FileVaults table in the ConisioMaster DB. How can the Archive Server settings be merged into one server? On Archive Server A could I create a new vault using the same name as the server B vault, then just replace the new vaults empty root folder with a backup of the Vault B root folder?

For the Vault B clients I think that I’d remove the vault views before staring the migration, then create new vault views once the Vault B was moved to server A.

Once everything is working I’d upgrade the PDM Standard vault to PDM Pro.
