I am setting up a new vault and part numbering system.

I am wondering how to handle giving numerous part numbers to a single part file.  For example, we often have parts that need numerous operations, each one is shelved between operations, thus needing a part number for inventory.  Each are unique parts, but all are represented by the same part file.

The simplest of examples for us would be a laser cut piece (shelved) needing a part number, and then being bent and needing another part number.  But the flat pattern and the bent geometry both are coming from a single part file.
