So in essence I have a motor applying a torque to a plank spinning it. However the plank is fairly heavy. I want the plank to rotate at a constant velocity/frequency and to do this the torque applied to the plank will vary with its position.

Can I apply a constant velocity to the plank and get a torque profile for my motor? Can this be done using SolidWorks motion analysis? The real problem is a bit more complicated but this is the gist of it.
