How to form a sheet metal box with bottom.

Greetings everyone!

I’m working on a 1 mm sheet metal box (four sides plus a back, attached only on one side) that I plan to flatten and send to my local shop for laser cutting and forming. Since the back will be welded on three sides (and a one edge/corner of the four sides), I’m trying to figure out the best way to model this fifth side.

The main challenges I’m running into are:

  • A significant gap at the bottom, where the back should sit very close to the bottom side.
  • Proper corner reliefs to ensure the part can be formed and welded cleanly.

Could someone take a look and advise on the best approach?
