How mate flanges in a route

Hello everyone, maybe it has been asked in the past or it is a silly thing to search for but I'd lke to know if someone know hot to disjoint or unmate two flanges in a route assembly.

I found myself in this bizarre situation: I put a flange to an end of a route then I wanted to start a new one mating a second flange, which should have been the beginning of the new path, BUT, I don't know how, don't know why, these two flanges are floating without being routed.

Tried to mate them in the context of the assembly (not the "modify path" context) but they keep floating without merging with the intended path. The tried to start a new path but flange doesn't move.

How can I joint one flange to a path and/or mate with the second flange? Delete them and start again can be surely the right solution but I'd like to know a way to fix these issue.

Thank you
