I am transitioning our company to SW. Starting with the Cabinetry dept. Generally speaking they would recieve 2 drawing sheets for a cabinet, first sheet being the assembly (finished cabinet) and its views. The second sheet would just be the individual boards that make up the cabinet, with 2 dimensions on the board and a note indicating the thickness. I can think of a couple ways to achieve this, but both seem cumbersome. I was wondering if there was a better way I hadnt thought of. I would ideally like to just create the cabinet as a multi-body part file. Using sketch relations and etc.. to cause the model to update for new assembly configurations. However I can not figure out a way to do this and isolate the parts on sheet 2. For example think of a simple bookcase with 2 shelves. I may have different configurations with 1 shelf, 3 shelves. A taller version, a wider version etc.
1. Make a "part" that is an extruded rectangle - add a configuration for each "board". Create assembly and adjust configurations.
2. Make individual part files for every board, then create an assembly of those.
Thanks for any thoughts
