How do I save a SW part as a CATIA file without loosing the properties data

My client uses CATIA and needs both parts and assemblies to be in the CATIA format.

1. Is there any way to retain all the property data (mass and material being the important ones) when saving to CATIA?

2. Assuming a solution to 1. If all the parts have been saved as CATIA, can the Assemblies be also be saved as CATIA files and retain the properties?
