I need to put a reference dimension  as a diameter  on to a detail view that only shows a portion of the component. I have got round this before by putting in a complete view, adding the dimensions then cropping it and hiding the dimension arrows and leaders that I no longer need. This is a bit of a slow process and I was wondering if anyone knew a trick to get round it.
