I am relatively new to a LOT of the features in solidworks 2018. I was trained on Solidworks 2006 and have not used it much since...but now I am using 2018 daily. My job involves lifting data from existing parts, filling in worn away or broken details, and producing a drawing and model that can be used to replicate or repair the parts.
I run into a LOT of odd thread forms, and need to accurately model them for 3d printing or CNC machining of these thread forms. I usually just model the thread, but I would like to add a new thread standard to the "Tools>Features>Thread..." function. Currently, it supports Inch Die, Inch Tap, Metric Die, Metric Tap, and SP Bottle Threads. Today, I need the Acme and Trapezoidal thread forms, and I'd like to do this once and have them available, rather than re-sketch the thread form each time.
How can I go about doing this?
