Hey I'm new here and not the best with anything other than just building new ones when it comes to assemblies. But I just got a job maintaining all of the drawings and assemblies for a company.

I have an assembly with 350 parts and sub assemblies, and i need to replace a single part that's nested inside two sub assemblies, and when i open up the root sub assembly and try to replace it i get nothing. after browsing for the part and pressing ok literally nothing happens, i've also tried deleting the part and bringing the new one it and it gives an error saying "failed to open file"

could it be that the two parts have identical names?

thanks for any help you can offer, i feel like i'm in over my head here.
