I am doing a motion analysis with a Rack and Pinion mate in the assembly. I can get the motion to move like it should. However, I am looking into the forces it takes to rotate the gear and I am suspicious the values I got. FYI, I am disregarding friction for now.

I have done several motion studies and I know how it all works and how to read forces and torques.

My question is more about how confident are you all with the force or torque readings you get with Rack and Pinion mates? Have you tried it? How did it work for you? Did you get the answers you expected?
