Hi,

I have a question about weld verification and dimensioning. You can currently use the edge weld connector with welds that connect shells-shells, and shells-solids and know wether your weld will fail or not.

What can you do when having a weld connecting a solid mesh and a solid mesh ?

I've read somewhere that there's a method named hot spot method to deal with these cases. It consist in evaluating stresses near the weld and doing an extrapolation.

Does anybody have some suggestions or can anybody me indicate a webpage,pdf, or book where I can gather more info ?
