When selecting edges or hidden lines to hide on a detail,  I can't get box or lasso to work unless the entire edge is in the box or lasso?  I would like to select anything that intersects my box/lasso, like the 'Right to Left' blue/green selection window in sketch mode.  It would save me a lot of time cleaning up drawings.  Is there a way to do this?
