I have a large assembly. 

I have 3 different mechanisms in this assembly that are not added as a subassembly.

I want to have different visual configurations showing easily without having to manually hide/show.

Is there a way to do it or is it all based on subassemblies?

For the record I tried to do in the configuration tab but the configuration tab seems to ignore hide/show.
