Is there a way to hide certain drawing annotations on either print or "save as PDF"?

I am working on creating standardized drawings for my company. I'd like to leave notes on the drawing for future users regarding certain aspects of the drawing, what the intent is, etc.. Basically similar to programming where you can leave notes about your code that the compiler ignores.

Some notes I am able to leave just sitting outside of the print area of the drawing, but in certain instances it is necessary to have a leader cross on to the drawing for clarity.
