Hi all,

So this is a problem that I've run across countless times when assembly modeling, probably due to my inexperience. What I'm referring to is when I'm unable to add a mate between the origin planes of two components because they aren't parallel (when I intended them to be!).

For example, in the attached folder, I want to add a Distance mate between the Right Plane of Small Pattern and the Top Plane of SUBASSEMBLY Dial. These planes appear to me to be visually parallel, but apparently they're not.

Any advice both in general and specifically, on this matter would be greatly appreciated !
