I currently run an nVidio Quadro550FX GPU with 128M of RAM. This is what came with my workstation. I know there is little difference between the workstation GPU's and home GPU's (except drivers). I can get substantially more VRAM (a GB or more) for a dirt cheap price as long as it's a consumer GPU.
Point being....is switching from a workstation GPU with 128MB RAM to a consumer GPU with 1GB or RAM advantageous? Or, a more broad question: is the benefit of a quadro over a geforce really worth the crippling price difference?
I currently run a dual CPU machine with XP Pro. We're considering switching to Win764, but I have little motivation to switch unless there is a compelling reason...
